SRINAGAR : Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari, Thursday chaired District Development Board meeting of Bandipora district during which a CAPEX budget of Rs 105.53 crore for year 2017-18 was approved unanimously.
Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, Legislators: Mohammad Akbar Lone, Usman Majid, District Development Commissioner Sajad Hussain, Heads of various Departments, District officers and other concerned attended the meeting.
While reviewing the physical and financial achievements made under different sectors during the last financial year, the Minister who is also Chairman DDB Bandipora, directed the officers and executing agencies to make concerted efforts to accomplish the set targets. He asked them to adopt pro-active approach for executing the works on various on-going developmental projects in a time bound manner.
He asked the concerned authorities to pay special attention on the projects under R&B, Health, Education, PDD, Horticulture, Agriculture, and Rural Development sectors.
During the meeting, the legislators highlighted the issues concerning their constituencies like upgradation of roads, augmentation of PHE, Education and PDD schemes, construction of community assets etc.
Earlier, the meeting was briefed by the DDC about developmental activities carried out during the last fiscal said that out of available plan outlay of Rs 50.43 crore, as many as Rs 46.48 crore were spent on various developmental and welfare schemes. He said that over Rs 4 crore were spent on the development of water supply and irrigation schemes under revalidated fund of 2015-2016.
It was given out that nine road projects costing Rs 23.21 crore were completed during the last financial year in the district. Under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSSY), it was said that 13 projects involving a road length of 52.39 Kms have been completed connecting 21 habitations during the last fiscal.
Further, the Board was informed that 9 projects at an estimated cost of Rs 67.84 crore are under execution which includes DH Bandipora, CHC Hajin, ITI Hajin, Auditorium at Sumbal, PHC Madwan, and NTPHC Gund Jahangir.. Besides through JKPCC projects costing Rs 68.55 crore include Degree College Gurez and Polytechnic College Bandipora are in various stages of completion.
The Minister directed the DDC to regularly monitoring the progress of ongoing developmental works to ensure their smooth and timely completion.
