SRINAGAR, Apr 20: Kishanganga Hydroelectric Project, Bandipora (J&K) of NHPC Limited, conducted a programme under its CSR-SD initiatives undertaken during the year 2016-17 and distributed cheques amounting Rs 9,73,000/- to 43 terminally ill patients of nearby villages of the Project.
In addition to above, distribution of 345 numbers of Polygreen Houses has been started to the nearby villagers of Check, Kralpora, Mantrigam and Chandji. The above programme was conducted under the chairmanship of Sajad Hussain Ganie, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora in presence of S H Zargar, General Manager, Kishanganga HE Project.
S H Zargar informed that around Rs 6 crore of budget has been sanctioned under CSR-SD Scheme by NHPC in the year 2016-17 to carry out various activities like distribution of Solar Lamps, Solar Lights, Polygreen house and medical aids etc to the nearby villages of Kralpora, Check, Mantrigam and Chandji.
Besides, under R&R Plan, Rs 46 crore have been funded under LADA, which includes 150 bedded hospital, presently under construction at Sanarwani at a cost of Rs 18 crores and providing of Sub-Station worth Rs 2 crores to Kralpora village and water supply scheme to the nearby villages besides other infrastructure works.
Further, NHPC has agreed for funding to the tune of Rs 134 crore for protection works of Madhumati and Boniyar nallah. General Manager, NHPC on this occasion solicited the wholehearted cooperation of District Authorities for quick implementation of CSR and LADA schemes in the project area and assured that NHPC is committed to the development of surrounding areas of Kishanganga Project.
