SAMBA, Apr 21: Former minister and PCC general secretary Manjit Singh today said that in view of the present situation in the State, Mehbooba Mufti Govt should step down and Governor Rule should be imposed in the J&K State.
He alleged that under BJP-PDP regime, attempts are being made to lower the morale of the security forces.
In a press statement here today, Singh said that the Coalition Government has compromised everything for the sake of power and put the lives of the security forces and common peoples at risk in Kashmir.
“Situation in Kashmir has gone out of control. People have openly targeting security forces. If security forces respond in self defense, they are not allowed to do so. They have tied hands of the security forces, while anti-nationals have gained support from within the Government,” he alleged.
He questioned BJP about its stand on Kashmir and how they compromised security of the security personnel who stand guard our borders and also handle internal security situation keeping their lives on risk.
Singh said that the Coalition Government has lost its moral responsibility to rule the State. “Time has come for them to resign paving way for Governor Rule in Jammu and Kashmir so that the State can witness phase of peace and progress,” he said.
He said that every day, differences among the coalition partners surface on many controversial and important issues. “The coalition has put the entire state on fire where democratic institution has been compromised for petty political interests,” he alleged.
Congress leader said that both coalition partners criticize each other publically. It is not a secret now. With these things, it is clear that they have formed government for the sake of power not to serve the people of the State.
He pointed out at the developmental projects which are still in progress. He alleged that many projects have been abandoned by the new Government which is unfortunate.
