DODA, Apr 21: A Manager and other official of Ellaquai Dehati Bank, Pranoo in Doda were caught red handed by Vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe from a farmer for sanctioning KCC loan.
The accused, namely Ominder Kharoo, Manager and Reyaz Ahmed (Messenger) Ellaquai Dehati Bank Pranoo, Doda, have been arrested for further legal action.
The Vigilance action was taken on the basis of a complaint, lodged by Nisar Ahmed of Thalroo Pranoo, who alleged that the said bank Manager and other official were demanding Rs 10000 as illegal gratification from him for sanctioning of KCC loan in his favour. The complainant had already given Rs 8000 bribe money as an advance to the said accused persons and the remaining amount of Rs 2000 was further demanded from him for the said purpose.
Acting on the basis of the said complaint, a successful trap was laid by the Vigilance sleuths under the command of DySP Kartar Singh against the said bank officials and they were caught red handed while demanding and accepting Rs 2000 as illegal gratification from the complainant.
After completing all necessary formalities, the said bank officials were arrested for further legal action. Investigation of the case is going on.
