Madhav takes views of Guv, FM, DGP

JAMMU, Apr 21: BJP national general secretary Incharge Jammu and Kashmir Ram Madhav today held deliberations with senior party leaders on prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir on twin fronts-law and order and political, and steps needed to maintain peace and normalcy.
Ram Madhav also had detailed meetings, separately, with Governor N N Vohra, Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu and Director General of Police, Dr Shesh Pal Vaid and took their opinion on the steps the Centre Government can take to restore peace in the troubled Valley.
While Drabu gave view point of the PDP, Dr Vaid briefed the BJP general secretary on law and order front. The Governor gave his perception of the situation prevailing in Kashmir to Madhav.
Sources said that at Raj Bhawan Madhav discussed the prevailing security environment related issues with the Governor, N N Vohra and the initiatives under consideration for hastening the developmental process and promoting peace and normalcy in the Valley.
Sources said Madhav also discussed the progress made on Agenda of Alliance (AoA) with Drabu and recent controversy created between the two parties with the statement of a BJP Minister and MLC elections in detail and the two leaders were of the opinion that such things which can affect the relations between two alliance partners should be avoided and every step should be taken to strengthen the coalition.
He also held meeting with Deputy Chief Minster, Dr Nirmal Singh and discussed the prevailing situation and functioning of coalition in the State with him.
He was also briefed about the situation prevailing in the State by DGP S P Vaid and measures taken by the administration to tackle the situation in strife -torn Kashmir valley.
Earlier addressing the meeting of party office bearers at BJP Headquarters Trikuta Nagar, Madhav cautioned partymen against malicious campaign being launched by some “anti national and anti social elements” on social media trying to flare up tension in Kashmir valley.
Madhav said “you should counter this negative propaganda launched on social media in a positive way so that people know the truth and such elements are unmasked who are trying to flare up tension in Valley for their vested interests”, party sources told Excelsior.
Madhav, who reached here this morning along with BJP national vice president and Prabhari J&K, Avinash Rai Khanna to take the stock of prevailing situation in the State, said some misguided people try to disturb situation through social media and “it is the duty of party men to counter the same to put the right picture before the public”. However, Madhav also asked partymen to refrain from making any such statement that is against the coalition interests and dharma, sources said.
He said any statement which is slated to strain the relations between coalition partners must by avoided and Partymen as well as BJP Ministers should stick to Agenda of Alliance (AoA) only and every effort should be made to strengthen the coalition.
Sources said BJP leader informed the partymen that Government at Delhi as well as the State coalition is committed to restoration of normalcy in trouble-torn Valley and hence “we all are duty bound to work for the same”.
Sources said the present deteriorating situation in the Valley was also discussed in the meeting and party showed grave concern for the same. Besides, the two days visit of BJP national president Amit Shah to Jammu on April 29 and 30and preparations made by the party in this regard were also discussed in detail in the meeting by two senior party leaders from Delhi with senior functionaries of State.
Later addressing the meeting of party office bearers from Kashmir Valley Madhav asked them to strengthen coalition in the State to isolate the disruptive forces who pose a threat to national unity and integrity. He also took a feed back from them on the prevailing situation in the Valley.
Talking to reporters BJP national vice president and Prabhari J&K Avinash Rai Khanna said that the meeting discussed the forthcoming visit of Party national president Amit Shah and preparations made by the party in this regard.
He said Shah will meet Party office bearers, Ministers, legislators, civil society members and also have an interaction with media people during his two days visit of Jammu.
On BJP leaders meeting with Dr Haseeb Drabu, Khanna said that “Finance Minister belonged to our alliance partner and such meetings are a routine which we hold from time to time”.
A BJP handout issued later to press said that Madhav while addressing the party office bearers said that BJP is the party which is known for its discipline and it will never compromise on this. He stressed upon the party workers to reach out to the weaker sections of the society and ensure that all the schemes for the public welfare launched by Narendra Modi Government must reach to the last man standing in the last row. He asked the party activists to be pro-active and come to the expectations of the general public.
In his address to party office bearers Avinash Rai Khanna asked them to have detailed information of the respective departments and projects and prepare a ready note of their achievements for its presentation before the national president, Amit Shah as he is very particular for maintaining the basic principles of the organization.
Khanna further asked them to constitute various committees and assign them their responsibilities for the grand reception of national president. He also asked them to prepare well thought memorandum related to all the three regions of the State substantiated with technical data to be placed before Shah.
The meeting was attended by State president of the party Sat Sharma, State general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul and former State president and MLC Ashok Khajuria.
Later Khanna left for Patnitop where the BJP State office bearers preparatory meeting for two days State Executive meeting is being held today. It will be followed by two days State Executive meeting at Doda on April 22 and 23. The meeting will be attended by the State Executive members and Union Minister in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh who is also the member of SE, is reaching Doda tomorrow to attend the meeting.
