NEW DELHI, Apr 22: Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section advanced by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today on tight position of trucks against pick up in cargo movements.
Transporters said, paucity of trucks in the market as compared to increased cargo movements, led to rise in freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Surat, Baroda and Mysore freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 27,000, Rs 24,000 and Rs 68,000, respectively.
Rates to Guwahati, Kochi and Vijayawada also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 59,000, Rs 79,000 and Rs 59,000, respectively.
