NEW DELHI: The Northern Railway has pressed into service special trains for Katra and Lucknow to clear extra rush of passengers.
According to the railways, Old Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra tri-weekly special train will depart from Old Delhi station at 9.10 PM on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from April 24 to 28 to reach Katra station at 11.30 AM the next day.
In the return direction, the special train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station at 1.30 PM on every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from April 25-29 to reach Old Delhi station at 3.15 AM the next day.
Comprising four AC-2, eight AC-3 tier and four Sleeper Class coaches, the train will stop at Ambala, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Jammu and Udhampur stations en route in both the directions, says a release.
For the convenience of passengers, the Northern Railway will also run Anand Vihar-Lucknow bi-weekly special train at 9.05 PM on every Tuesday and Thursday from April 25 to 29 to reach Lucknow station at 6.25 AM the next day.
In the return direction, the special train will depart from Lucknow at 7.30 PM on every Wednesday and Friday from April 26 to 30 to reach Anand Vihar station at 4.30 AM the next day, it said.
Comprising one AC-2 tier, one AC-3 tier, six Sleeper Class and four General Class coaches, the train will stop at Ghaziabad, Moradabad and Bareilly stations en route in both the directions. (Agencies)
