DGP sanctions water purifiers for police stations across J&K

JAMMU, Apr 22: Director General Police, Dr S. P Vaid has approved water purifiers for all the police stations across Jammu and Kashmir, as part of initiatives underway to further improve the living conditions of police personnel.
The DGP has been personally monitoring welfare measures for the police personnel and their families and to ensure these a holistic programme has been chalked out that includes better accommodation, better amenities and basic necessities for improving their living conditions.
Dr Vaid said that welfare and betterment of the police personnel is high on the agenda of the organization and to achieve this expeditious measures are on at all the levels. “Better working conditions are imperative”, he said, adding that a mechanism has been worked out for quick redressal with regard to welfare measures.
The DGP said several other initiatives are in progress to equip the force in a better way and to improve their working conditions. He said that responsibilities of JKP have increased manifold and we have to focus on upgrading the professional capabilities of the Jawans.
Though in the recent years, the organization has taken a number of initiatives to improve the living and working standards of its personnel yet much more is required to be done in the field to enhance basic amenities for the personnel deployed in the field, particularly in far off areas.
DGP sought reports with regard to the implementation of schemes which are in force. He asked the officers to make the policies more transparent and come with comprehensive suggestions to introduce more welfare scheme for the benefit of the personnel.
