College Teachers apprise Minister of their demands

JAMMU, Apr 22: A delegation of College Teachers Association,  led by the CTA president (Jammu Wing),  Prof D S Manhas, called on Education Minister Altaf Bukhari and discussed with him various issues concerning college fraternity.
The Association demanded  placement of Assistant Professors to the Associate Grade and  it was also stressed that for the higher grade should be cleared on pro-rata basis. Further the cases of placement of Assistant Professors in AGP 7000 and AGP 8000,  which are lying with the department should be cleared without API conditions upto March 2017 as has been done in 2015 by the Higher Education Department while  API score for Assistant Professors should be implemented on pro-rata basis from April 2017 onwards.
The Minister assured the Association that these two demands of the College  Teachers Association would be resolved immediately and positively.
The Minister fixed April 25 for resolving these issues and called the Association to attend the meeting with him and Commissioner /Secretary Higher Education on that date.
The delegation comprised of  Dr Anil Ganjoo, Dr Twinkle Suri, Dr  M S  Saini,  Prof  Hans  Raj, Prof Mala Bhasin. Dr  Jagjit Singh,  Dr  Narinder Sharma,  Dr  Sandhya Bhardwaj,  Dr Revika Arora,  Dr Surinder Sharma, Dr Vishal Sharrna and  Dr Ranjodh.
