UDHAMPUR, Apr 22: Enraged over shocking incident of rape with two minor girls in Panchari, local villagers, students and women held a strong protest demonstration here today seeking immediate closure of a wine shop at Kainthgali and bar in Panchari as the liquor consumption was cause of such crimes in the area.
The raised slogans in support of their demand and claimed that that the wine shop and bar in the village were cause of nuisance with the result that women and school going children feel unsafe.
They also threatened to forcibly close the wine shop and bar if the administration does not fulfill their demand.
Later, Tehsildar Panchari and Dy SP, Dr S R Bhatt rushed to the spot and pacified the protesters.
