JAMMU, Apr 23: The Mughal Road which connects Kashmir valley with Jammu region as an alternate route through Shopian and Poonch/Rajouri districts has been thrown open for one-way traffic from today.
To ensure smooth regulation of traffic on Mughal Road from Poonch to Shopian and vice versa, Inspector General of Police, Traffic, Jagjit Kumar has formulated one-way traffic plan for the movement of light motor vehicles only w.e.f. 23.04.2017 to 10.05.2017.
However, to ensure safety/security of the passengers, movement of traffic on the road shall be allowed strictly from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm keeping in view the weather conditions and other related issues at higher reaches.
Moreover, no movement of traffic shall be allowed during night hours under any circumstances and all the vehicles shall cross Peer Ki Gali before 5:00 pm, every day.
