Amit Shah to travel to Jammu, says trip has nothing to do with situation in state

NEW DELHI, Apr 28: BJP National President Amit Shah will be going to Jammu on a two-day visit, as part of organisational works.

Significantly enough, the visit comes in the wake of reports that there are some problems in the PDP-BJP relations in Jammu and Kashmir and also that a few BJP Ministers in the Mehbooba Mufti ministry may be replaced.

In an informal chat with the reporters here, Mr Shah said his visit “has nothing to do” with the disturbing situation in the Kashmir valley. However, he said during his two-day stay in Jammu, he would hold discussions with party leaders and other citizens concerned on the situation in the militant-hit Jammu and Kashmir.

The BJP chief is on a nationwide tour, as part of organisational works. Besides completing tour of all states in the country, Mr Shah has also given unto himself, special task of reaching out to party workers and other citizens in five states – including West Bengal, Telangana, Odisha, Gujarat and Lakshwadeep.

He has already made first round of trip to Naxalbari, the erstwhile hub of Naxal movement in North Bengal, even as his stay in West Bengal has already earned strong reactions from Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Meanwhile, the BJP leaders said there was nothing wrong on part of Mr Shah or on the part of BJP to work for the saffron party’s organisational expansion. According to party sources in Jammu, during his two-day stay, the BJP chief may also discuss with party colleagues on the need to “change ministers” in the PDP-BJP Government in the State. (UNI)
