*Govt schools secure 17 positions

JAMMU, Apr 29: Like last year, girls again proved mettle and surpassed the boys in the class 12th, the result of which was declared today by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE).
Out of total 64 positions, girls secured 44, while boys claimed remaining 20 in Science, Arts and Commerce. Government schools also made their presence felt in the Merit List by securing 17 positions.
In Science stream, 19 girls secured positions, while 17 boys made it to the Merit List. In Arts stream, 10 girls and 2 boys claimed positions, whereas in Commerce stream, 15 girls and one boy secured positions.
A total of 38895 students were enrolled for the examinations and the total pass percentage was 51 (19906).
In Science stream, first position was shared by Akanksha of Infant Jesus Higher Secondary School, Hiranagar and Tasavur Khanum of Spring Dales Higher Secondary School Kathua by securing 96 per cent marks, while Lovish Mahajan of Oriental Academy Afghan Mohalla Jammu, Satyam Mahajan of Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar and Surya Pratap Singh of Government SRML Higher Secondary School, Parade Ground, Jammu shared second position by securing 479 marks out of 500.
The third position was shared by Anshika of Infant Jesus Higher Secondary School Hiranagar and Sanket Khajuria of Little Angels Higher Secondary School Kathua by securing 478 marks out of 500, while Abhijeet Singh Jamwal of Government SRML Higher Secondary School, Parade Ground Jammu, Bhrigu Sharma of Oriental Academy Afghan Mohalla Jammu and Mansi Charak of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar Jammu bagged fourth position by securing 95.4 per cent marks.
Jasbir Kaur Garry of SP Higher Secondary School, Bari Brahmana and Ritika Anand of Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth HSS Udhampur clinched fifth position by securing 95.2 per cent marks, while the sixth position was shared by Muskan Sawhney of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi, Raagini Gupta of Oriental Academy, Afghan Mohalla Jammu and Ritika Sharma of Government Higher Secondary School Garhi by securing 475 marks out of 500.
The seventh position was bagged by Mrinali Sharma of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sunderbani and Rishiv Ranyal of Christ Higher Secondary School Poonch by securing 474 marks out of 500, while the eighth position was clinched by Harsh Dev Verma of SP Higher Secondary School Bari Brahmana, Kiranpreet Kour of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar Jammu, Pavneet Singh of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public Higher Secondary School Poonch, Sagrika Sharma of Vijay Higher Secondary School Udhampur and Yatika Koul of Government SRML Higher Secondary School, Parade Ground Jammu by securing 94.6 per cent marks.
Aman Verma of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar Jammu, Amandeep Singh of Aryan Public Higher Secondary School RS Pura, Anuj Raina of ST Peter’s HSS Karan Bagh Satwari, Karun Paul Singh of Oriental Academy Afghan Mohalla Jammu and Pratiksha of Government Higher Secondary School Ramnagar clinched ninth position by securing 472 marks out of 500, while the 10th position was shared by Anamika Sharma of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, Chahat Mahajan of CMP Convent Higher Secondary School Dayalachak Kathua, Ravleen Kour of Mother India Senior Secondary School RS Pura, Riya Gupta of Oriental Academy Afghan Mohallah Jammu, Rupali Sharma of ST Francis Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, Simran Gupta of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Rehari, Utkarsh Sharma of Oriental Academy Afghan Mohallah Jammu and Vagisha Sharma of Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth HSS Udhampur by securing 94.2 per cent marks.
In Commerce stream, first position was clinched by Vanshika Gupta of Oriental Academy Afghan Mohalla Jammu by securing 478 marks out of 500, while the second position was shared by Monika Angural of SP Higher Secondary School Bari Brahmana and Sanya Gandotra of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar Jammu by securing 95 per cent marks.
The third, fourth and fifth positions were bagged by Priya Choudhary of Dogra Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar Jammu, Priya Sharma of Oriental Academy Afghan Mohalla Jammu and Sonalika Sharma of May Fair Higher Secondary School Chand Nagar Jammu by securing 94.8, 94.4 and 94 per cent marks respectively.
Archana of Indira Public Higher Secondary School Shant Nagar, Janipur, Manisha Bhatia of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Rehari and Muskan Anand of Shastri Memorial Higher Secondary School, Rehari Patoli claimed sixth position by clinching 93.8 per cent marks, while the seventh position was shared by Simran Manyal of Indira Public Higher Secondary School Shant Nagar Janipur and Taniya Pandoh of Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School, Rajpura Mangotrian Jammu by securing 468 marks out of 500.
The eighth position was bagged by Kanu Priya of Oriental Academy Afghan Mohalla Jammu, Mansi Gupta of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi and Samritee Bhola of Little Angels Higher Secondary School Kathua by securing 93.2 per cent marks.
The ninth and tenth positions were clinched by Rhythum and Sambhavi Salaria, both students of Oriental Academy Afghan Mohalla Jammu by securing 93 and 92.8 per cent marks respectively.
In Arts stream, Bandeep Kour of Manu Shiksha Kendra Higher Secondary School Rajbagh, Bharit Sharma of SP Higher Secondary School Exchange Road Jammu, Simran Gupta of Government Higher Secondary School, Jourian Akhnoor, Farzana Batool of SP Higher Secondary School Exchange Road Jammu, Avantika Rajput of SP Higher Secondary School Exchange Road Jammu and Neha Verma of SP Higher Secondary School Bari Brahmana clinched first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth positions by securing 95.2, 94.8, 94, 93.6, 93 and 92 per cent marks respectively.
The seventh position was shared by Junaid Yasin Malik of SP Higher Secondary School Exchange Road Jammu and Kusum Singh of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Rehari by securing 459 marks out of 500, while the eighth position was shared by Nikita Trehan of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi and Samir Ahmad of SP Higher Secondary School Exchange Road Jammu by securing 91.6 per cent marks.
Samriti Sumbria of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur and Suneha Bharti of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar Jammu secured ninth and tenth positions by securing 91 and 90.8 per cent marks respectively.
