JAMMU, Apr 30: BSF School Jammu celebrated its Annual Day ‘From Darkness to Light’amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation.
The evening was reserved for a gala presentation. Ram Awtar, IG BSF Jammu Frontier was the chief guest and Kamlesh Ram Avtar was guest of honour.
The Programme began with the lighting of ceremonial lamp which was followed by Ganesh Saraswati Vandana.
The Annual Report read by Dr S K Shukla, Principal BSF School Jammu highlighted the school’s achievements in both academic and co-curricular activities and presented his vision for the progress of the school.
Students presented variety of cultural items and showcased their talent by means of group song, orchestra, ballet, skit, thematic dance performances etc. A musical performance by students singing the song ‘Ekta Hi Kaum Ki Zarurat Hai Sathi’ ended with a plea to dispel the darkness and bring forth mutual harmony and trust enthralled the audience.
A musical feast was presented by the school orchestra group in the form of an orchestral train journeying through various states of India.  Bhangra set the energy levels soaring with breath-taking performance.
The chief guest gave the prizes to the meritorious students who had excelled in academics and various competitions held at School, District and National Level.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the efforts of the Principal Dr S K Shukla and his team for making the school one of the top Day-cum-Boarding Schools of J&K.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Sunita Grover. The programme culminated with the National Anthem.
