JAMMU, May 1: A constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police was suspended today after his official weapon AK-47 rifle was stolen from his room in Rajouri district.
The AK-47 rifle of the constable was stolen from his rented accommodation following which he reported the matter to the police station, Suleman Choudhary, SSP Rajouri said. He said that departmental action has been initiated against the cop and he has been placed under suspension for negligence.
Meanwhile, Rajouri area has been put on alert following theft of the weapon. ”The cop was deployed with a Judge in the district court,” he said adding that search is on to identify and trace the culprit.
