India needs Indira Gandhi like leader: Manjit

JAMMU, May 1: Former Minister and JKPCC general secretary Manjit Singh today said people of India need ex-Prime Minister like Indira Gandhi to deal with the situation in Kashmir and on borders with Pakistan because Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Government has failed on all fronts.
“Under the prevailing situation across the country, it seems India needs another Indira Gandhi to rule the nation to keep it united and secure its borders like she did in 1971 by defeating Pakistan in a historic war,” said Manjit Singh,    while speaking before the party workers during a monthly meeting at Vijaypur.
Former Minister said that the BJP Government has been ruling in Jammu and Kashmir from over two years but one would be surprised that they count developmental works of previous Government.
“No new developmental work has been initiated or completed by this Coalition Government which is often seen while contradicting each other on their respective statements,” he took a jibe.
He said that they have no moral authority to continue rule in Jammu and Kashmir because this North Pole and South Pole have brought the State on edge, where Pakistan has again dared and attacked Indian border posts, and also mutilated bodies of our soldiers.
“BJP’s national president Amit Shah was wrong in his statement that for them it is nation first and then, come other things. They are power hungry and for them, power first and then, comes nation,” he alleged.
He said that repeated militant activities are taking place, violence in Kashmir has increased, yet the Government is nowhere in the sight.
He further said that today Pak army conducted a BAT operation across the LoC and mutilated bodies of our brave soldiers but the Centre is working as a mute spectator.
“There is no hard or soft policy with the Centre or State Government. They have put the lives of the people to risk and brought instability with them in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
