Govt nowhere visible: Bhalla

JAMMU, May 3:  Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has alleged that Govt was no where visible on the ground in the J&K State.
While addressing public here today, Bhalla expressed surprise that  the Government that spoke so much about nationalism was unable to halt the cycle of violent deaths. He said this  Government speaks so much about nationalism but is unable to provide  security to the people.  He castigated the Modi Govt for increase in casualties,  violence and terror attacks across the country.
Congress leader alleged that Coalition Govt also failed to secure Banks and ATMs in Valley. A pistol borne unknown youth on Tuesday looted cash Rs 65,000 from a bank in Kader village of Kulgam district in south Kashmir. Bank robbery incidents are on rise in  Kashmir. Unidentified gunmen on November 21,  looted Rs 12 lakh cash  of J&K  Bank at Malpora in Charwani area in Charar-e-Sharif in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Four masked gunmen barged into the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch at Arihal in Pulwama district on December 8,  2016 and took away Rs 10 lakhs cash at gun point. On December 15, 2016, masked gunmen looted Rs 11 lakh cash from JK Bank in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. On 16 February 2017, four masked gunmen looted Rs 3 lakh from JK Bank branch in Turqwangam village in Shopian district of south Kashmir. On  April 19, this year, unidentified gunmen looted away Rs 5 lakh cash from the Harmain branch of JK Bank, Bhalla maintained.
Bhalla alleged that Govt has “completely failed” in curbing casualties of civilians and security forces in Kashmir, the North East, Naxal-hit areas and also questioned the BJP’s nationalist credentials.”This is the most hypocritical double-faced, double-speak Government this country has ever seen.”
He claimed that  91 civilians and 198 soldiers lost their lives in 35 months of NDA rule, while during the same period of UPA during 2011-14, 50 civilian and 103 jawans were killed, which is half of the current number. In last 35 months of UPA there were 470 ceasefire violations by Pakistan and 85 terror incidents, while under Modi Government they rose to 1343 and 172.
Bhalla also condemn the barbaric act of the killing of two Indian soldiers on the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC) and mutilating of their bodies by Pakistani troops.
