Poor road connectivity

Sir,
This has reference to the Sunday Magazine article ‘Kishtwar Road’ DE Apr 30, 2017.
It is quite disconcerting that the State Government does not have a concrete plan to provide all weather road connectivity to this region. People of Chenab valley have suffered enormously on this account, and will continue to suffer in the future as well in case no remedial measures are taken on priority basis.
Adhocism is no solution to this perennial problem. The landslide prone area has consumed many precious lives so far. Many families have been devastated as they have lost their bread earners. Many have been crippled for life and the tale of tragedies continues in this manner. The Government can’t prolong the ordeal of this region for ever. A permanent solution has to be found which requires administrative acumen and political will.
The poor road network in this region has hit the tourism and pilgrimage  sectors terribly.
No one likes to visit a region which does not have proper facilities for tourist, though it may boast of natural scenery. Hope the authorities may wake up to this reality at the earliest before another catastrophe hits the region.
Yours etc…..
Veer Singh
