Police rescues minor girl lured through Facebook

JAMMU, Oct 19: Police today rescued minor girl from Kud area of district Udhampur, who was lured by a youth through social networking site “Facebook”.
Giving details, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, SSP Udhampur, said that the minor girl hailing from Rajasthan came in contact with a PCO running youth Vishal, of Railway Station, Jammu, through social networking site “Facebook”.
He said that Vishal lured the minor girl and asked her to visit Jammu to pay obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi, adding, that the girl visited Jammu and Vishal alongwith his two other accompliance Anshu and Vicky, took her to Mata Vaishno Devi in a silver colour Tata Safari.
SSP said that, due to heavy rush of pilgrims at Mata Vaishno Devi, they all turned towards Patnitop, he said, adding, that the trio accused persons enroute harassed and molested the girl.
At Kud, their activities were noticed by police party, who approached the girl, SSP said, adding, that while the girl was narrating her ordeal, the trio accused persons fled from the spot alongwith the Tata Safari.
The girl was shifted to Police Women Cell, Udhampur and her parents have been called, while, a case under FIR number 108/ 12 under Sections 366/ 354/ RPC stands registered at Kud Police Station and investigation started, SSP informed.
