POONCH, May 7: Calling upon the need to clear the liabilities created under Centrally sponsored MGNREGA, Youth National Conference today said that concerned minister should wake up to the swelling liabilities of MGNREGA
Youth National Conference, Provincial president Ajaz Jan (Ex-MLA) addressing party workers at Loran urged upon the RDD authorities to clear the pending MGNREGA liabilities of poor workers of the area. He said that the hard earned money if being denied to the poor and hapless workers.
The people from Loran belt of Poonch and several deputations from different villages during meeting with Ex-MLA raised several issues of public concern.
People informed NC leader that the payment of MGNREGA works executed by them are pending for couple of years now.
” Department is unmoved to the swelling liabilities and we people are almost feeling a burden for which no one is bothering ” local people said.
Locals villagers also raised serious concern on the delay in distribution of concrete tiles in Panchayats.
Jan asked State Government to clear pending liabilities at the earliest and to give a healing touch to people whose payments are pending. He said MGNREGA is aimed to provide employment to people but by creating liabilities, Government is putting extra burden on them.
“Concerned minister should wake up over this and ensure that only works approved in plan are executed so that localities are prevented ” Jan said.
He also asked to ensure supply of concrete tiles in Panchayats for construction of Pacca tile path.
