Extra forces, new gadgets to ensure peaceful Shri Amarnath Yatra: IG CRPF

BHADERWAH, May 8: Besides routine security measures, extra forces along with new gadgets including 20 mobile jammers will be put in place to ensure a peaceful Shri Amarnath Yatra beginning from June 29 in Jammu and Kashmir.
This was stated by Inspector General (IG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) AV Chouhan during media interaction here today.
Considering the present scenario of Kashmir, extra deployment will be made all along the highway from Pathankot to Jawahar Tunnel besides patrolling parties will be equipped with latest gadgets to tackle with any untoward situation, he added.
“Although we are still in the planning stage but we will surely deploy some extra force depending on Srinagar situation as we are able to provide extra force at any stage and in the shortest notice”, IG CRPF stated.
To counter any threat especially along yatra route from Pathankot to Jawahar tunnel, we have purchased lot of new gadgets including 20 mobile jammers and a couple of static jammers which will be put in place along the highway, he said, adding that they will also increase deployment on the highway and will take care of each and every yatri of Shri Amarnath Yatra.
Later, IG CRPF AV Chouhan discussed the security arrangements for the forthcoming Kailash Yatra, Manimahesh Yatra, Trishul Bhaint Yatra and Machail Yatra with CO 4RR, CO CRPF 133 Battalion A Padma Kumar, DIG CRPF Rakesh Sethi, SHO Bhaderwah Inspector Jatinder Sambyal and other officers of different intelligence wings.
IG CRPF was on a one day visit of Kishtwar and Bhaderwah. He also inspected all four companies of 133 Battalion posted at Bhaderwah. He also attended a Sainik Sammelan at Police Complex Bhaderwah.
