Riot Control Training Course begins at CTC

JAMMU, May 8: DIG IRP Range Jammu Vijay Kumar inaugurated four weeks Riot Control Training Course at CTC Sunjwan.
Keeping in view the present challenging situation and upcoming security scenario of the State it was imperative for police force to impart special trainings to its officers and officials to deal with law and order problems for safety of public, public property and self while dealing with agitated mob.
The main focus of the course was to use minimum force and follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) while dealing with agitations, protests and rallies.
DIG IR Range Jammu visited quarter guard and inspected entire complex of CTC Sunjwan.
DIG IR Range Jammu addressed the jawans and officers and told them about new strategy to deal with mob–discussion with public, mediation, warning through banners, role of media, use of concertina wire to stop the mob, use of water cannon and use of tear smoke to disperse the mob.
He also told the role and responsibility of Magistrate during law and order situation.
DIG IRP Jammu appreciated the effort put forth by Commandant IRP-14th Battalion while imparting training to the trainees of various courses held at CTC Sunjwan. DIG wished that the officers and jawans of the armed police will continue to perform their duties with great zeal, zest and dedication.
He also emphasized to achieve higher goals and jawans must keep good health for which stress was made on regular physical activities, yoga and refresher training. The trainees were advised to drink plenty of clean drinking water to prevent them from dehydration keeping in view harsh summer season. Necessary directions were also given to officers and officials to wear shoes with ankle ads especially during night to avoid snake bites.
On the occasion, Yogesh Sharma, SP, JS Chib, DySP and other officers and jawans of the CTC Sunjwan were also present.
