2 cops among 4 die in road accidents, 2 hurt

JAMMU,  May 8:  Two Policemen were among four persons killed in three road accidents in Rajouri and Udhampur districts today.
A police spokesman said that Head Constables, Sanjay Sharma and Mulakh Raj,  both residents of Thalora village were killed on the spot when they were hit by   an unknown truck near Pardai on  Dhar Road late this evening. The mishap took place at around 8.10 pm when  they were returning to Police Station Majalta on a motorcycle from Kishanpur side. Both were posted at Majalta Police Station.
Their bodies were later shifted to Majalta hospital. The police registered  a case and started chasing truck. They seized the truck No. PB-35Q/7125 and  arrested its driver Rakesh Kumar.
Reports from Rajouri said that a minor boy was killed and a youth received serious injuries when a Tractor rolled down at village Parodi in Kotranka area today. The mishap took place when tractor driver Mir Qasim, son of Mir Mohd resident of Leeran village was returning from the fields. 15-year-old Vujahid Hussain, son of Mohd Said from Parodi Galla was sitting with him on the tractor. The boy was killed on the spot. Injured Mir Qasim was admitted to Rajouri hospital.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured when a Tata Mobile vehicle met with an accident at Beri Darra in Manjakote area this afternoon. The injured identified as  Mohd Hanief and Alaf Khan, both residents of Mangal Nad were shifted to Rajouri hospital.
Another report from Udhampur said that one Subhash Chander, mason by profession, son of  Jagan Nath, resident of Mand  was hit by Swift car No. JK02BG/9955 when he was moving along the National Highway near Tikri this morning.  He was rushed to district hospital where doctor declared him as brought dead. The police seized the vehicle and registered a case in this connection.
