Centre, State Govts failed to curb militancy: JTC

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, May 8: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held here today under the Chairmanship of  Shadi Lal Pandita, who heads both of these organisations.
Addressing the meeting, Shadi Lal Pandita  said that the Coalition Government of PDP and BJP have failed to run the State smoothly as militancy and crime has increased many fold. He expressed  surprise over the statements given by several leaders in Government of India as well as in State, that Pakistan is behind the militancy operative in Kashmir valley.  Pandita  said what the Government in centre as well as in State is doing and why steps are not being taken to curb militancy and giving a befitting reply to Pakistan to make it mend its ways.
He said it seems that the present Government itself is boosting militancy, bank lootings, encroachments over the religious shrines and temples of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir valley. If the Government had been sincere and devoted to the welfare of the general masses harsh steps would have been taken to curb these activities in the State in general and in Kashmir valley in particular.
