POONCH, May 8: Shams-heer Hakla Poonchi a Gujjar leader today appealed the Government for opening the Boarding Schools for Gujjar-Bakerwal girls in all districts of the State.
In a statement issued here today he said that the Gujjar Bakerwal community mostly residing in the far- flung and hilly areas lack proper education facilities.
The Gujjar Bakerwal girls face problems during the time of study as they come from far flung areas.
So, Boarding schools for these Gujjar Bakerwal girls should be setup upto graduation in order to solve their problems.
Hakla Poonchi expressed concern that the mobile schools which the Government had setup for nomadic Gujjar Bakerwals are not moving with the Gujjar-Bakerwals when they move to the hilly, mountain areas and when they come back to their places again these mobile schools are not with them. These mobile schools remain stationery which kills the basic spirit of opening them.
