JAMMU, May 9: Jammu Municipal Corporation today conducted intensive drive against illegal Rehries/Pharies and encroachers causing traffic congestion and obstructing free movement of pedestrians on footpaths.
The Chief Enforcement Officer, Revenue Officers, Assistant Enforcement Officers and other enforcement staff, under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner (Rev) Jammu Municipal Corporation Vinakshi Koul, conducted drive.
The team visited various areas viz Indira Chowk, KC Crossing, Maheshpura and BC Road. The team removed 6 number of illegal rehries plying on the main roads causing traffic congestion and seized three truck load of materials viz plastic crates, weighing machines , Umbrellas which were placed by the shop keepers, phariewalas on the footpath / pavement and cleared the footpaths and pavements. The team also demolished three number of illegal `Tharas’ on spot at BC Road below flyover.
