JAMMU, Apr 25: Department of Physical Education and Sports, Dansal organized Inter Village Panchyat competition of Zone Dansal in the discipline of Badmintion, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Handball and Wrestling under 16 years age group at Youth hostel Nagrota under centerally sponsersd scheme Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abyan (PYKKA).
The tournament was declared opened by the SS Bali, Deputy Director, Youth Services and Sports, who was the chief guest on the occasion in presence of Tirth Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), who was the guest of honour.
While speaking, SS Bali encouraged the players and stressed upon to give the opportunity of this scheme to rural players so that they can excel at State, national and international levels.
In Badminton Boys, Nagrota Panchayat defeated Jagti panchayat by 2-0 whereas in girls Nagrota panchayat trounced Jagti panchayat by 2-0 in the first match and in the second match, Nagrota panchayat emerged winner by thrashing its opponent Dansal panchayat by 2-0.
In Kabaddi Boys, Jagti Panchayat defeated Kathar panchayat by 22-19, Nagrota trounced Churta panchayat by 32-15 and Katal Batal panchayat beat Khanpur panchyat by 17-0.
In Kho-Kho Boys, Jhajjar Kotli panchayat thrashed Dansal panchayat by 7-5 sets and Dansal panchayat outplayed. Nagrota panchayat by 3-0 while in the girls category, Nagrota panchayat defeated Jhajjar kotli panchayat by 12-3 and Dansal panchayat defeated Jagti panchayat by 4-3.
In Handball Boys, Jhajjar Kotli panchayat defeated Janakha panchayat by 2-0 and Dansal thrashed Jhaggar Kotli panchayat by 2-1.
The matches were officiated by Narayan singh, Kulbushan and Anil, PEMs, Rattan, Dheeraj, Vikram Jamwal, PETs, while the tournament was organised under the supervison of Jeet singh, ZPEO Dansal.
