JDA launches sanitation drive in Bahu-Plaza area

JAMMU, May 13: In order to get cleanliness and hygiene in and around Bahu Plaza and Rail Head Complex, the Jammu Development Authority launched its first drive of sanitation in collaboration with the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
The sanitation drive has been launched as a sequel to the review meeting of “Sanitation & JDA assets Maintenance”,  held by Rajesh Kumar Shavan,  who assumed the office of Vice Chairman, JDA  last week.
The president of Bahu Plaza Traders Association, Anil Gupta and president of Raghunath Bazar Association, Surinder Mahajan,  had met the new Vice Chairman and apprised him of the problems faced by the traders, visitors and tourists due to lack of proper sanitation and hygiene in and  around the JDA and other commercial complexes.
Taking cognizance of the same, the Vice Chairman JDA held consultation with the Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation R S Jamwal and accordingly a joint sanitation drive has been launched.
A large number of people from the area and traders community were present on the occasion and they appreciated the efforts of JDA and Municipal Corporation. The Vice Chairman JDA himself remained present to interact with the stakeholders at Bahu Plaza.
It is pertinent that the Vice Chairman JDA has ordered for placement of all the concerned officials of Sanitation wing at the disposal of the Assistant Sanitation Officers of JMC of the concerned area, so that the work is properly monitored and the object of “Swachh Bharat Mission” is achieved in real sense in the jurisdiction of Authority.
Those who remained associated with the drive, included  R  S  Jamwal, Joint Commissioner JMC, Kewal Kumar Sharma, ASO, Sardar  Prithpal Singh, Sanitation Officer, JMC, Executive Engineer JDA, Junior Engineer JDA and Sanitary Inspector, (JDA) alongwith his team.
