KISHTWAR, May 13: People’s Democratic Party MLC Firdous Tak today reached out to the students community urging them to be a partner in development, prosperity and peace in the State.
“It is students and youth who hold the key to development and prosperity. You are the future leaders, academicians, doctors, engineers, lawyers. The more we focus on students community, the better prospects we have of a good future”, Tak said while addressing a large number of students here today.
PDP’s Students Union (PDSU) had organised this day long students convention where they discussed the strategy for empowerment of students of district Kishtwar.
The party MLC, Firdous Tak was the chief guest and others who accompanied him included party district president for Kishtwar, Sheikh Nasir Hussain, senior vice president Nazir Ahmed Shah, vice president Jaffer Babzada, general secretary – Ishtiyaq Hussain Waza, district president Trade Union Sajjad Ahmed Dev, State youth secretary Umar Malik and District president PDSU Kishtwar Mudassir Ahanger.
Speaking on the occasion , Tak said that the main agenda of PDSU is to empower the students , youth and ensure their ideas are taken seriously. Emphasizing the need for involving the students and youth communities in building a modern and peaceful region, Tak said, “The State can come out of its problems of uncertainty and development, only if the younger population is engaged creatively and their talent and energy given a positive direction”.
He said that students are the future of our society, tomorrow you will become youth and respectable individuals of this society. He also advised them that they should concentrate on their studies as well as take part in social activities.
Several students from different schools and colleges appraised the MLC with problems including shortage of teaching staff and technical institutes, problem of infrastructure in their respective institutions and so on. He assured to resolve the same.
