SRINAGAR, May 17: Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri today chaired a high level meeting to review the implementation of the Roshni Act 2001.
Financial Commissioner Revenue Lokesh Jha, Commissioner Secretary Revenue Muhammad Ashraf Mir, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmed Khan, Additional Secretary Law Anchal Sethi, DC Srinagar Farooq Ahmed Lone, Joint Director Planning Zulfiqar Ali Banday and other concerned attended the meeting.
The Minister directed the concerned to submit a detailed report about the practical difficulties in the implementation of the Act.
The meeting also discussed different means and ways for the capacity building of Revenue Officers. It was said that officers above the rank of Tehsildar would be imparted one week refresher course on revenue matters after every two months in IMPA and similar arrangements would be taken for capacity building below the rank of Naib Tehsildars at Revenue Training Institute (RTI).
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on stamp duty in reference to Migrant Act and Land Acquisition Act of the State. The Minister impressed on the officers to adopt uniform market rate in implementation of both of these Acts.
