JAMMU, May 17: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) held a protest here today to draw the attention of the Chief Minister over 221 writ petitioners, whose joining orders are lying pending for the past around two years.
While addressing the gathering, RK Bhat, President, YAIKS said that it is very unfortunate on the part of the Government, which has failed to implement the High Court judgment within stipulated period of two months.
“There is clear cut direction to the Government and SSRB by the Division Bench of Jammu and Kashmir headed by Chief Justice in favour of 221 writ petitioners under PM’s Return and Rehabilitation Package. But unfortunately for the past around two years, the Government is adopting delay tactics to implement the court directions passed on June 2, 2015”, Bhat added.
This is very unfortunate that the court directions are being ignored in the Jammu and Kashmir, Bhat said and questioned how they can believe in democracy and legal system in the nation.
The protesting youth in one voice appealed to the Chief Minister to issue joining orders in favour of 221 writ petitioners without further delay, failing which they will be forced to re-start their indefinite protest.
