Health Dept employees meet Minister, highlight demands

JAMMU, Oct 21: Health Department employees led by Dharminder Singh Bhargav, president, Medical Employees Federation (MEF), met Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma and discussed various problems being faced by the Health Department employees.
During the meeting various problems were highlighted including enhancement of quota and placement of Female Multi Purpose Health Workers (FMPHW) in feeding cadre for promotion to extension educators, LHV, junior staff nurse and their promotion as Community Health Officers (CHO), to step-up grade of FMPHW’s at par with BHW’s who are placed in higher grade after undergoing just 30 days in service MPW training, creation of posts of LHVs at PHC level and sanction of additional posts of District Malaria Officers (DMO’s), in newly created districts and filling up of the vacant posts of DMO’s, from the category of SHI’s/ MI’s having 15 years supervisory experience as per SRO-20.
Minister gave a patient hearing to their demands and assured them that order pertaining to their long pursued matter regarding enhancement of quota for promotions of FMPHW’s to various categories will be issued shortly. He also assured to take up all other matters to their logical conclusion in near future.
Among others present were Saroj Bala, president, FMPHW, Kamla Devi, general secretary, RK Sharma, chief advisor, Paramjeet Singh, Anju Bala, Bholi Devi, Bimla Devi, Kamlesh and Waryaam Singh.
