Srinagar, May 23: High Court has directed Government to file compliance report regarding deportation of five Pakistani nationals.
Disposing of a petition filed by Mohammad Imran Bhat through advocate Mir Shafqat Hussain, Court directed the Government to take steps at the earliest for his deportation in accordance with rules within two months.
A resident of Narwal Punjab Pakistan, Imran was arrested in 2008 and subsequently convicted to undergo imprisonment for a period of five years.
“The petitioner (Bhat) appears to have undergone the sentence….Response has been filed (by the Government) in which the assertions have not been denied,” the court observed underlining that the authorities were under obligation to take steps for the deportation in terms of the relevant rules.
