JAMMU, May 23: Senior Congress leader and former minister Sham Lal Sharma today said that injustice with the FMPHWs in the BJP-PDP Govt is the cruel joke of women empowerment by this dispensation.
In a press statement here today the Congress leader expressed his grave concern over the state of FMPHW who are sitting on dharna for the last nine days. He said that the demands for which they are sitting on dharna are genuine and needs immediate attention of this government.
Sham said that these employees haven’t received their salaries for the last one year. He said that the most of these FMPHWs are dependent on their salaries for meeting their day to day domestic basic needs. He said that these lady workers perform multifarious duties with devotion and dedication.
Mr Sharma further said that in the present BJP -PDP Government, the Health portfolio is held by the BJP who has been elected from Jammu. It is pity that the concerned minister isn’t addressing the genuine demands of these lady workers. The BJP was voted to power by the massive mandate given to BJP by the people of Jammu with the hope that their interest will be safeguarded, but people are feeling cheated because they met biased attitude from this government.
The former minister said that the BJP ministers have surrendered themselves before the PDP as they are power hungry. He further said that the consequent upon the strike by the said employees, the patients in various hospitals are suffering very badly for their medicare.
Sham Lal said that despite protest demonstrations, this Government is not bothered about the plights of the female health workers. He stated that the State Government is misusing and diverting the salary funds and grants in unknown projects.
He said the present Govt should wake up from deep slumber and keeping aside their personal interest, they should pay attention towards the genuine demands of the common people and employees.
