Mian Altaf releases three Gojri books

SRINAGAR, May 24: Former minister and MLA Kangan today released three Gojri books of local authors, in an impressive function jointly organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Adbi Sangat Kashmir, held here at Lalmandi.
Noted writer Ch Iqbal Azeem, Dr Aziz Hajni Secretary JKAACL ,  Ch Salam Din Bajad, president Adbi Sangat, Ch G D Tahir, Head of Doordarshan Kendra, Srinagar, Prof Ab Lattief Khatana from National School of Drama New Delhi, Dr Javaid Rahi, Chief Editor of JKAACL and veteran Gojri writer Qaisar Din Qaisar and Ch Ghulam Abas of PIB were in the presidium.
Three Gojri poetic collections  which were released included ‘ Tahang’ by Abdul Ghani Arif, ‘Lashkara’  by Abdul Hameed Kassana, and ‘Khawab Silona’ by Ch Taj ud Din Taj.
Mian Altaf Ahmed, in his address said that in past few decades Gojri has emerged as a fast growing literary language of the State. He said that credit of development of this tribal language goes to its writers, researchers, artists and institutions who are vigorously working for its promotion and propagation. He congratulated Abdul Ghani Arif, Hamid Kassana and Taj ud Din Taj for thier hardwork to popularise Gojri among masses. He impressed upon the  institutions working  for Gojri for a joint efforts to boost language.
Earlier, Dr Aziz Hajni stated that Gojri Section has a vast publication programme and during currant  year besides other publications we will bring out 10 important books in Gojri . He said that we will shortly organise a Musical extravaganza in Gojri, in Pir Panchal area.
Dr Javaid Rahi stated that  Gojri speaking people are scattered  in India, Pakisan, Afghanistan  besides UAE, Britain and other countries and only internet can bind them. He stated all such new arrival books of Gojri must be uploaded on internet for vast reach.
Ch Salam Din Bajad in his welcome address spoke about the activities and elaborative programmes of their organisation for Gojri Language and Culture.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Ch Iqbal Azeem, Qaisar ud Din Qaisar, M Manshah Khaki, Majeed Hasarat, Abdul Salam Kousari and Rafaqat Ghazi.
