JAMMU, May 24: State President All India Kissan Sabha, Dr G S Charak, has expressed surprise over the functioning of BSNL in the State.
In a statement here Dr Charak said that there was a time where BSNL monopolized the telecommunication system in the State but with the inflow of other competitor companies in the market the BSNL functioning went from bad to worse. There is no end to the day to day complaints against the malfunctioning of the BSNL.
Citing a grave instance of its malfunctioning and acts against its own watch and ward staff, Charak said that instead of increasing the watch and ward wages, the BSNL authorities have reduced the same from Rs 3500 to Rs 3000 in urban and from Rs 3000 to Rs 2500 in rural areas whereas other companies have increased the wages to the extent of Rs 500 and above slabs per annum.
Dr Charak has appealed the concerned BSNL authorities to release the pending arrears on account of the said watch and ward charges/ salary immediately.
