People hold protest over water scarcity

JAMMU, May 24: Alleging acute scarcity of drinking water the entire Jammu West Assembly constituency the activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) held a strong protest under the leadership of Sunil Dimple.
While addressing, Dimple alleged that water has not been supplied in Jammu West area for the past 72 hours as a result of which the people were faced with multi-faceted difficulties. Demanding immediate restoration of normal routine water supply to the people, Dimple urged the authorities at the helm of affairs to start work on Chenab Water Supply Project so as to provide a lasting solution to water shortage in Jammu city.
Dimple also flayed the PDD for long unscheduled power cuts in Jammu during the scorching heat of summer months and called for uninterrupted supply of electricity.
