JAMMU, May 25: People of Laxmipuram (Chinore) are facing acute shortage of water for last five days that too at a time when mercury in Jammu is rising, the residents of the area alleged in a meeting held here today.
They alleged that they are suffering with severe water shortage, as for last five days they did not get water supply.
“We have not taken bath for last many days and are bound to wear dirty clothes, as there is no water in our houses even to wash a handkerchief; they said.
They said from field staff to concerned Chief Engineer and local MLA, we approached to everyone, but our problem is still unattended.
They accused the PHE authorities of negligence and carelessness and appealed Chief Engineer, PHE, to intervene personally to restore water supply in the area without any more delay.
