JAMMU, May 25: Going by the government decision to have a dependable monitoring mechanism in place to make teachers stakeholders for effective schooling in the state, Joint Director, Education Charandeep Singh held an administrative and academic inspection of Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSC), Canal Road and advised teachers to use ICT laboratories, teaching aides for delivering lectures and also prepare well before delivering their lectures as was taught during B.Ed courses.
These initiations, he said would enable students to visualize well and retain information imparted to them for longer periods. While interacting with students to know about their difficulties, the Joint Director reviewed the progress about awareness drives regarding Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme 2017-18 wherein those having family income less than Rupees 6 lakh are being provided Rs 30,000 for pursuing general degrees, Rs 1.25 Lacs for engineering courses and Rs 3 lakh for medical per annum besides, Rs one lakh for other fees and expenses. The scheme, he said is a boon and must be availed.
The visiting officials asked Principal and staff to invite students who have passed out of the institution and make them apply for these schemes online so that students could avail benefits of schemes meant for them. It was also impressed upon the teaching fraternity to create awareness amongst students by distributing pamphlets amongst them. During inspection, the Joint Director reviewed the progress on herbal garden located within school premises and expressed his satisfaction.
