SRINAGAR, May 26: Dr. Nirmal K. Singh, Dy. Chief Minister, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.
Dr. Singh briefed the Governor about the various initiatives taken by the State Government to speed up the growth and development process in the State, particularly in the power, housing and urban development sectors.
Dr. Singh also apprised the Governor about the measures adopted for augmenting electricity supply and ensuring public health, sanitation, solid waste management and environmental protection.
The Governor and Dr. Singh also discussed the preparedness of the various concerned State Government departments for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Mian Altaf Ahmad, Member Legislative Assembly from Kangan also called on Governor and discussed with the Governor various matters relating to the need for speeding up developmental works, better utilization of available resources and time bound completion of projects and programmes in his constituency.
The Governor and Mian Altaf also discussed arrangements to be made for the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2017.
Appreciating Mian Altaf’s concerns, the Governor urged him to continue sustained efforts for promoting harmony and people’s welfare in his area and particularly counseling students to remain focused on their studies.
