All Vedic literature agrees that Krishna is the source of Brahma, Siva and all other demigods. In the Atharveda, it is said “Yo Bramanam Vidadhate Purvam Yo Vai Vedams Ca Gapayati Smakrishna’’ -it means “ it was Krishna who in the beginning instructed Brahma in Vedic knowledge and who disseminated Vedic knowledge in the past.’’
Then again the Narayana Upanishad-1 says “Atha puruso ha via Narayana, kamayata prajah srjeyeti’’. Then the supreme personality Narayana desired to create living entities’’. The Upanishad continues that, “From Narayan, Brahma is born and from Narayana, the patriarchs are also born. From Narayana, the eleven (11) rudras are born, from narayana; the twelve (12) adityas are born’’. This Narayan is expansion of Krishna.
It is said in the same Vedas, “Brahmenyo deviki putrah’’. The son of Deviki (Krishna) is the supreme personality, it is also said in Narayan Upanishad-4, “Ekovai Narayana Asin Na Satvam Brahma Na Isano Napo Nagni-Samanneme Dyav-Aprthivi Na Naaksatrani Na Suryah:’’ In the beginning of the creation, there was only the supreme personality Narayana. There was no Brahma, no Shiva, no water, no fire, no moon, no stars in the sky, no sun. In Maha-Upanishad-1, it is said that Lord Shiva was born from the fore head of the supreme lord. Thus the Vedas say that it is the Supreme Lord, the creator of Brahma and Shiva, who is to be worshipped.
In the moksha-dharma, Krishna also says:
Prajapatim ca rudram-capy Aham eva srjamivai
Tau hi mam na vijanto-mama maya-vimdhitan
It means that the patriarchs, Shiva and others are created by ME, though they do not know that they are created by ME because they are deluded by my illusory energy. In the Varaha Purana, it is also said that Narayana is the supreme personality of god-head, and from him Brahma was born, and from whom Shiva was born, Lord Krishna is the source of all generations, and he is called the most efficient cause of everything. He says “Because everything is born of me, I am the original source of all. Everything is under me; no one is above me.
In this content, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna in Bhagavad Gita-10th Adhaya-Sholka 8th (10.8-B.G) as under :-
Aham sarvasya prabhavo-mattah sarvam pravartate
Iti matva bhajante mam-bhudha bava-samanvitah
Thus in this shloka-the lord says, “I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from me. The wise or the learned, who perfectly know this, engage in my devotioal service and worship me with all their hearts.
Thus a learned scholar sho has studied the Vedas perfectly (not a philosopher who has dived deep in philosophies and not gained spiritual emancipation) know that lord can be reached with devotional service with purity of heart. Thus in order to achieve the purity of heart, meditation is the only tool for inner exploration (antar mukhi sada sukhi).
It is bliss if the mind is turned inward. Our great sages have advocated calmness of mind in order to subside the eruption of powerful disturbing thought waves. They have, therefore, taught us, through various hymns and shlokas to reflect, meditate, ruminate and enquire deeply. Thus, they say that it could become a state of empowerment. one could have more meaningful life. This calmness is appropriately compared to a river, it says, “When a river is calm, it reflects; when the mind is calm, there is greater clarity of thought’’. Furthermore, in the above context of calmness of mind, spanda karika puts in:
“Yada Khoba Prlayete Tada Seryat Param Padam’’
Means : When the mental turmoil disappears it is only then that the highest state is attained.
Thus, when we try to remain calm and rather become habitual in maintaining a state of calmness consciously, we then start experiencing and understanding our spiritual existence, as a natural sequence. But once we feel embarrassed by so many theories and by contradictions of various type of philosophiical speculations, and mind tiring discourses or discussions, we become disgusted and then we foolishly conclude that there is no supreme cause and that everything is ultimately void. This in my opinion is a diseased condition of life. Some people are too materially attached and therefore, do not give attention to spiritual life. Thus, having said above the Opulence of the Absolute I conclude that everythging is in full opulence in the personality of God-Head. All his senses are transcendental, His potencies are multifarious and his deeds are automatically performed as a natural sequence.
“Bhagavad-Gita’’ throws ample light in understanding the opulence of the Absolute. It is, therefore, befitting to suggest to the spiritual aspirants to read and understand Bhagavad-Gita as the lord explains the effects of the modes of nature on human-consciousness and activity, together with the meaning of renunciation, to realize “Brahman’’- how to realize “Brahman’’, the lord explains the glories of the Bhagavad Gita. The highest path of religion is absolute unconditional loving surrender which frees one from all sins, brings one to compete enlightenment and enables one to return ultimately to Eternal Spiritual Abode !
