JAMMU, May 27: The Vigilance Organization today produced chargesheet against Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police, Ram Chand, then posted as Investigating Officer at Police Post Hatli Morh, Kathua, who was caught red handed while accepting bribe.
Challan in case FIR No. 11/2015 u/s 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, 2006 and Section 161 RPC at P/S VOJ on 07/03/2015, was presented in Anti-Corruption Court Kathua.
The accused ASI, presently posted in P/S Rajbagh, was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 3000 from the complainant, in presence of independent witnesses and trap team of Vigilance organization.
The accused person was arrested on the spot and thereafter released on court orders. Further investigations by the Vigilance Organization into the matter proved the allegations of corruption charges against him. After establishment of charges of corruption against public servant and getting necessary sanction from the State Government, Vigilance Organization produced chargesheet against him before the Anti-Corruption Court Kathua. The next date of hearing is fixed on 01/07/2017.
