JAMMU, May 28: Jammu Parytan Vikas Mandal (JPVM) and All Jammu Hotels and lodges Association (AJHLA) have urged the State Government to take up improvement and development of Shri Raghunathji temple and constitute Raghunath Mandir Shrine Board which could further boost the tourism in Jammu.
Addressing a press Conference, Inderjeet Khajuria, chairman, Jammu Parytan Vikas Mandal (JPVM) and the members of All Jammu Hotels and lodges Association (AJHLA) said that Jammu tourism has suffered a great setback not only due to rail link extension to Katra but also due to Government’s cold response on the completion of ongoing Jammu Tourism Projects like artificial lake in Tawi, cable car project, Maburak Mandi Heritage Complex etc which has worsened the situation further telling upon the livelihood of more than 5 lakh dependent people.
Answering to question raised regarding complaints of yatris during their visit to Shri Raghunath ji Temple, Khajuria said that there have been regular reports of money extortion forcibly and misbehaviour, though at a low voice. He condemned the video which went viral regarding temple and termed as insulting the disgusting, besides earning bad name to the city of temples and religion.

He appealed the management of the temple to do everything to redress the wrongs. He also requested the State Government for improvement and development of the temple on the pattern of Golden Temple, Amristar and added that the same has been endorsed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti at the time of inauguration ceremony of Fly Over at Bikram Chowk, recently.
To create tourism attraction, Khajuria said publicity of existing religious and historical places should be enhanced and also demanded constitution of Shrine Board for temples of Shri Bawe Wali Mata and Kol Kandoli Temple in Nagrota.
