NSF celebrates birth anniversary of Ashfaqulla Khan

JAMMU Oct 22: To celebrate the 112th birth anniversary of Ashfaqulla Khan who laid his life for the Country, National Secular Forum (NSF), Jammu University Unit organized a special programme in University Campus, here today.
Amid slogans “Ashfaqulla Khan” inqulaab Zindabad” ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and they paid tributes to Ashfaqulla Khan and garlanded the portraits of the son of soil.
Mohd Amin Khan, SSP, IRP 17th Bn Jammu was the chief guest, while Dr DL Choudhary, Administrator, General Zorawar Singh Auditorium Jammu University, Prof Shohab Inayat Malik Director Kishtwar Campus and Prof Rahul Gupta HoD Statistics were the guests of honour.
Dr Vikas Sharma, State President NSF was the special guest and Surjit Choudhary Sr Vice-President presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion Mohd Amin Khan said that when Ghandhi Ji withdrew the Non-Cooperation Movement after the Chauri Chaura incident in 1922, so many Indian youths were left dejected and Ashfaq was one of them, adding that he felt that India should become free as soon as possible and decided to join the revolutionaries and also win the friendship of Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil, a famous revolutionary of Shahjahanpur.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Dr DL Choudhary, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik and Prof Rahul Gupta.
Chiman Singh President University Unit presented welcome address, while Ravi Choudhary, General Secretary NSF presented vote of thanks.
The whole programme was coordinated by Sukdev Singh, Sunil Kumar, Balveer, Mustaq, Amit Sharma, Sheikh Mudasser, Vinod, Aaksay Sharma, Tushar Chib, Rishikesh Rana and Pushpinder Singh.
