Madan for construction of circular road along International Border, LoC

JAMMU, Oct 22:  Madan Lal Sharma MP Jammu-Poonch Constituency and senior Congress leader addressed a public meeting at border Village  Kukerial Marh near here  today.
Addressing the meeting he strongly supported the people’s demand that State Government should construct a Circular Road all along the International Border and Line of Control to supplement health, education and other basic infrastructure like power, water supply.
Mr. Sharma also demanded that the fence may be taken to zero point as people face lot of difficulties due to fence between the villages. He asked the Government to review the rates of land rent and compensation for those whose land came in mine areas and who could not use their land for agriculture purposes because of the border activity.
Elaborating further Mr. Sharma requested the Central Government to enhance the BADP budget at minimum three times than the existing one and asked the officers to propose the works which can immediately benefit the border people.
He also complemented the Coalition Government for making a consensus on implementation of 73rd Amendment. He advocated the reservation proposed by Congress before the BDC’s elections. He strongly opined that State Government should conduct BDC polls after incorporating 73rd Amendment as early as possible, but within the time frame of three months.
Mr. Sharma later inaugurated the lanes/drains constructed from MP(LADS) fund and announces 15 lakh contribution from MP(LADS) fund for construction of the road in the area. He directed the Executive Engineer PWD, R&B Div. III Jammu to start the construction of the road on priority, as the inhabitants of the area are suffering badly due to deplorable condition of the present road and also announced Rs 5 lakh for improvement of Power supply of the area .
