41 bovine animals rescued, 2 held

JAMMU, Oct 22: Police today rescued 41 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers from different places of district Rajouri.
As per reports, on specific inputs, police party led by ASP Purshotam Sharma and SHO Inspector Vikram Parihar laid a naka at Dhramsal and intercepted Tata mobiles bearing registration numbers JK11-9878, JK11-2306 and one without registration number.
During checking, police recovered 17 milch animals and arrested Harbans Singh, son of Munshi Ram of Rajouri, while, other smugglers managed to flee from the spot, leaving behind the vehicles.
In another incident, police rescued 6 bovine animals, whereas, the bovine smugglers fled from the spot in Dharmsal.
Meanwhile, police rescued 14 milch from truck bearing registration number JK02G-5719, while the bovine smuggler fled from the spot in Kalakote area of district Rajouri.
In another incident, police arrested bovine smuggler Gulam Qadir, son of Beig Hussain of Gambir Mugla, Kalakote, district Rajouri along with 4 milch animals.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Dhramsal and Kalakote Police Station, while, manhunt was on to nab the absconding smugglers.
