Law Department appoints 8 new Session Judges

JAMMU: The State Law Department today appointed Seven Sub-Judges as permanent District and Sessions Judges, whereas appointing one Sub-Judge as Adhoc District and Sessions Judge, as per an order issued here.      

According to the order issued by the Secretary to the Government Department of Law, Justice and PA Abdul Majid Bhat, on the recommendation of High Court, Rupali Ratta has been posted as Sub-Judge in Leave Reserve J&K High Court, Suneet Gupta posted as Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, Masarat Shaheen posted as Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar and Ritesh Dubey posted as Chief Judicial Magistrate Udhampur.      

Mehmood Choudhary has been posted as Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajouri, Kamlesh Pandita posted as Chief Judicial Magistrate Reasi and Ranbir Singh Jasroita posted as Chief Judicial Magisrate Handwara. They have been appointed as District & Sessions Judges.

Sarfaraz Hussain Shah, presently posted as Chief Judicial Magistrate Poonch, has been given additional charge of Adhoc District Judge for a period of six months or till the post is filled up by regular process, whichever is earlier, as provided under Rule 20 of the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Judicial Service 2009.
