JAMMU, June 1: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today took out a rally protesting against ERA, JMC, PWD (R&B) and traffic department for turning the Jammu West Constituency into dirties, backward and most undeveloped constituency of the State.
A large number of activists of JWAM led by their president, Sunil Dimple took to road at New Plot and marched through different parts of the constituency including Janipur-High Court road, Tali Morh, Sarwal and Upper Laxmi Nagar.
In the way, the protestors blocked roads for some time and disrupted vehicular traffic. They shouted slogans against the sitting MLA, demanding his resignation for no development works in the constituency. Hundreds of traders also joined the protest march.
Addressing the protestors, Sunil Dimple alleged the west assembly constituency has become the dirtiest and backward constituency of the State and all important projects of the constituency are lying unattended while heaps of garbage are lying here and there.
Dimple said ERA sewerage works have damaged all the roads of the west constituency and sewerage water is going in the houses and shops of the traders in the constituency. He demanded CBI or vigilance inquiry into the funds spend by ERA, PWD (R&B) and JMC in the constituency as no development is visible in the constituency.
He said all the roads of the constituency are in worse condition and waiting for the black toping work while dust pollution generated from damaged roads due to plying of vehicles has damaged the goods of the show rooms and other business houses, and is causing fatal breathing diseases to people.
Dimple alleged that the BJP-PDP Government has totally failed to solve the traffic problem in the Jammu city and is constantly ignoring their demands of construction of flyovers at Rehari Chungi and Jewel Chowk.
He gave ultimatum to the Government that JWAM will start Jan Aandolan if the authorities did not wake up from deep slumber and take effective steps for blacktopping the roads and start other development works in the constituency.
