Youth of Kashmir determined to move ahead: Dr Jitendra

JAMMU, June 3: Union Minister of State in PMO with Independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that people of Kashmir especially youth are fed up with the violence and turmoil and want that normalcy to be restored in trouble torn Valley as soon as possible so that they too can become part of the developmental agenda of Narendra Modi Government.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function soon after his arrival here from New Delhi, Dr Jitendra Singh said that the youth of Kashmir were determined to move ahead and become the part and parcel of Narendra Modi’s New India. “They are fed up with violence and turmoil and it is high time to call the bluff and expose those who mislead youth of the J&K for their vested interests and perpetrators and protagonists of violence and disturbance are brought to the book. The youth of Kashmir want to go ahead despite all obstacles and hindrances,” he added.
He said the Government keeping in with the will of people of Kashmir has to take responsibility and initiative for restoration of peace and normalcy in the Valley and also restore the confidence of those youth who are being misled by these forces for their vested interests.
He said that Kashmiri youth are so eager to be part of the PM’s developmental agenda that for some 700 posts announced recently thousands of candidates turned up for filling up of forms. “The youth of Kashmir are ready to join the developmental agenda and Government is also ready to provide them all opportunities as we will not allow these opportunities are dithered away by handful of people who have different agenda’’, Dr Jitendra added.
“The youth of Kashmir understand that they are being deprived of the opportunities and avenues available to the youth in other parts of the country as they are being mislead by these forces. But fed up with them, they want now to become the part of development on which country is leading at present’’, he added.
In response to a question about the soft paddling on issue by the successive Governments in past and some politicians were also supporting these villains saying that they are stakeholders, Dr Jitendra Singh said they have been now exposed fully. He said the society at large across the country has to understand the duplicity and intent of these vested elements.
On funding of some separatist leaders, he said the law will take its own course.
On continuing shelling from across the border and targeting of civilians by Pakistani troops, Dr Jitendra Singh said whatever Pak is doing is its business and the neighbouring country has been doing this for years together but this time India is giving  befitting retaliation which was never before done.
In response to a question that Pakistan is trying to provoke India by making civilians the soft targets, the Union Minister said Pakistan has been epicentre of gravest form of human rights violation in this region and sub continent. It has been involved and guilty of violating the Human Rights of people in Gilgit and Baltistan, he added.
Later addressing a mammoth public meeting at Chenani in Udhampur district in the afternoon on completion of three years of Narendra Modi Government, Dr Singh highlighted various developmental programmes and public welfare schemes launched by the Prime Minister.
The rally was organised by MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat. Dr Jitendra Singh reiterated that the Modi Government is dedicated to poorest of the poor and  all programmes and policies framed by it were formed focusing poor and downtrodden.
Without naming Congress, he said that this Government didn’t give slogan regarding eradication of poverty but “we came up with such programmes and policies that poor people can become part of the developmental process and lead a self esteemed life.”
Dr Jitendra Singh while terming Modi Government’s coming to power at Centre in 2014 as resurgence of grass root democracy in India after 70 years said both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah belonged to common class of people.
While highlighting various schemes launched by Modi Government, he highlighted Jan Dhan Yojna, Start up India, Atal Pension Yojna Ujwala scheme etc and said all these are for the upliftment and betterment of poor people. He added that people of this country have faith in PM and it is the reason that despite facing problems for some time they fully backed the historical decision on demonetization.
Dr Singh also highlighted various projects launched in the Kathua, Udhampur Doda Constituency and said that Rs 150 crore Devika Conservation project, FM Radio Station for Udhampur, Opening of Passport Office at Udhampur and construction of 200 foot bridges and roads under PMGSY and CRF schemes are some projects worth to name.
He announced Rs 80 lakh Ghordi bridge for the Chenani Constituency and said that the issue of Degree College will be taken up with the concerned Ministries. Dr Singh accused the previous Governments of making false promises and misleading people. He said that Narendra Modi Government has launched many developmental and welfare schemes for poor and asked the people to take their advantage.
Addressing the meeting, MLA Dina Nath Bhagat also highlighted the welfare schemes of Modi as well as State Government. He said the developmental works which were pending in his Constituency for last 10 years have been completed by him. He stressed on grant of Degree College to Chenani besides construction of Ghordi bridge.
He said present Government deserved credit for construction of Chenani Nasri tunnel and roads to the tune of Rs 131 crore in his Constituency.
The MLA also submitted a memorandum to the Minister highlighting demands of the people of the Constituency.
Earlier, BJP general secretary, Pawan Khajuria also highlighted various yojnas of Modi Government which have been framed to benefit poor and downtrodden. Making a dig at previous Union Government, he said Manmohan Singh was a weak Prime Minister. He complimented Dr Jitendra Singh for getting Devika Conservation project sanctioned.
BJP secretary Anil Parihar said BJP is a movement while highlighting the achievements of Modi Government. He said hike in salaries of VDCs is one of the achievements of this Government. He demanded that Udhampur be brought on tourism map of the country.
BJP leader Kuldeep Magotra was among others who were present in the meeting.
