Sir,
Day in and day out nature and natural bounties are coming under tremendous pressure due to rapid increase in population and commercialising of land.A report published in Daily Excelsior on May30, reveals a pathetic picture of our famous Gharana wetland in R.S.Pura which is shrinking at an alarming rate.As against original 97 kanals, it ihas shrunk to just 15 kanals. It is shocking as well as a cause of concern.
Environmentalists , Nature loving people, concerned government officials must all together make it known to common people and all especially school and college going students by holding awareness programmes that living without natural bounties like wetlands, forests, trees, rivers, is absolutely impossible . We should spare no effort to preserve and protect such gifts to man from the nature. Many species of birds have vanished due to absence of their habitat conditions , food and nests . Migratory birds come here and make Garana a wonderful natural scene.
Let us protect nature to protect us.
Yours etc……
